James Castner

James Castner has been in Mortgage Financing since 1996 and has held a number of positions during that time. His history covers Executive and management positions in administration, operations, compliance, qa and lender relations within Brokerages. He has held Mortgage Broker licenses in both Oregon and Washington. He has also held Loan officer positions in both Commercial and Residential lending.

His position with AMF Capital, is as an Analyst for Commercial Lending with a focus on Multi-family and selected Small Cap transactions. He also monitors secondary market financing for AMF Capital in the Northwest. He is responsible to understand the details of a proposed transaction and develop Financial packages that best present the total project to a lender on behalf of the Client. He also serves AMF as a Commercial Loan Officer developing client contacts and origination support for Investors and Commercial Real Estate Brokers.

Mr. Castner is a founding Principle of Columbia Resources, Inc.  Started in 1996 as a brokerage in Portland Oregon, its primary focus is residential lending in Oregon and Washington.  The company provides all residential products to home-buyers, home-owners and investors in that market, including all agency products. An array of Portfolio offerings is available for those needs that do not meet agency guidelines.

Prior to entry into Real Estate financing Mr. Castner had a significant career as Computer Systems Engineering Support. He founded a computer engineering company with employees stationed on both coasts of the US, in Asia and Europe. The company and Mr. Castner supported computer systems operations for the US Navy, NASA, US Air Force, the Pentagon, various other federal agencies and departments as well as commercial clients.

Mr. Castner is a native of Oregon and has held Licenses as a mortgage broker in Washington and Oregon. Columbia Recourses is licensed by the Federal Registry, National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). He attended Old Dominion University and Eastern Carolina University and is a member of the National Association of Mortgage Professionals and the Oregon association of Mortgage Professional as well as past member of the Washington Association of Mortgage Brokers.
